Raven Rocks Run
The Raven Rocks Run is a 10k course that is part of the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in Cross River, New York. This is a great trail run that is challenging and fun. Its main draw is that the course is part of a larger effort to improve the park.
There are several events that will take place in 2023, the most notable being the Raven Rocks 10k Run. For more information about the run, you can check out the event website. The run will be held on Sunday, November 13, 2022. Runners are encouraged to register before the course sells out. If you are interested in a more private group run, contact the event organizers to find out if there are available spots.
Other notable events taking place in the area include Leatherman’s Loop, the Sarah Bishop Bushwhack, and the Run the Farm. These are all part of the park’s annual celebration of the natural and cultural heritage of the region. As the largest nature preserve in Westchester County, the park provides a multitude of outdoor activities for visitors of all ages. Some of the most popular attractions include a birdwatching trail, a slew of birds of prey, and a myriad of flora and fauna. In addition, the park is the home of the largest cliffs in the state.
While there are no official records of this year’s Raven Rocks 10k Run, the event is expected to draw a large crowd. Those who are interested in the event can claim a bib, which includes a free park pass. Runners will be able to pick up a map of the course the week before the run. Runners will be able to track their progress via the RunSignUp website. Runners can also enter the race via the virtual run option. However, the best time to register for the event is during the week leading up to the run.
The Raven Rocks Run is one of the most unique and impressive courses in the state, and the run is well suited for all levels of runner. Whether you are looking to challenge your body and mind or simply enjoy some fresh air, you won’t regret giving this event a try.
Leatherman’s Loop trail race
The Leatherman’s Loop is a trail race that celebrates the area and its history. It’s the oldest trail race in Westchester County. Since 1987, the Loop has attracted over 1,300 runners.
This trail race is held at the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in Cross River, NY. The trails are open to hikers and cyclists, and there are also areas for fishing, picnicking, and lean-to camping.
The Leatherman’s Loop was started in 1987 by four trail running friends. It has been run every year since then. The Loop has grown to be a popular trail race and attracts a large number of young people. There are many trails to choose from, and you’ll spend most of your time on dirt in shaded woods.
Some of the features of the course include mud flats, a steep sand hill, and water crossings. You’ll need to be careful and bring plenty of water.
This race is considered one of the biggest trail races in the country. However, it’s also quite crowded. To avoid this, make sure you’re prepared for the weather and bring an extra pair of socks. Also, be sure you don’t change your socks just before or right after the race.
One of the most popular trails in the race is the mudflats section. In this section, you’ll pass through mud, grass, and swamp land. If you have a muddy shoe, it’s a good idea to use a gaiter to keep your shoes dry.
Runners are encouraged to bring a small snack and drinks to the Loop. At the halfway point, there is a water stop. Make sure you have enough energy to get through the 4.7 miles.
Runners can meet up with other runners at the Loop’s group runs. These are held on the trails on Sundays. As you might imagine, they’re less crowded than the Loop itself. Having a friend to run with can be a great experience.
If you’re interested in entering the Loop, you’ll have to register during the Loop Lottery. This lottery opens in January, and the drawing will take place in April.
